This week has been one big headache. My story was topical, but lacked a strong angle. However, I plowed on with it only to find that after all my hard work, it was to be dropped. Although it will still be published on the website, it won't appear in the bulletin, which has pissed me off somewhat. One of the reasons being that we can't have more than one University based story. Seeing as I'm the corporate reporter, dedicated to university stories, it would be nice if other people stayed away from similar stories.
Everyone is getting overly stressed, seeing as we have nearly half as many people as we did last semester and tempers are flaring. I think we'll be at each others throats in a few weeks time unless a miracle happens.
I'm not particularly thrilled about working as a news reporter, however I chose it because I thought it would be a necessary experience, however now I think it might just be unnecessary stress. I'm definitely leaning towards a career in features. I'm considering applying for work experience at a fashion magazine such as Glamour, however I am planning on discussing this over with my lecturers before launching myself into anything.
